5 Reasons Why Feminist Porn is Still Far From Serving Women's Desires

Feminist porn is a form of pornography that aims to challenge traditional gender roles and representations of sexuality, often featuring more diverse and realistic portrayals of women and their pleasure. However, I still see several issues with feminist porn that need to be addressed.

#1 Focus - Is He Even Here?

One issue with feminist porn is that it often still focuses too much on the female body and ignores the male body as worthy of attention and focus.

In traditional pornography, the female body is often shown in great detail and is a major focus of the camera's attention. The problem is that even in feminist porn the camera often still focuses primarily on the female body, with close-ups of breasts and genitals and less attention paid to the male body. This erases the fact that many women are visually stimulated by the male body and in this way it is no different to mainstream pornography.

If we look at porn statistics from PornHub we see that a ton of women like watching solo men. Why is this? Oh, I don't know... Maybe it's because they enjoy looking at the male body.

When you search for ''Her POV'' (Her Point of View) you will hardly find that even on feminist porn sites. And as much as it is fun to laugh at Sarah Millican's joke that a woman's POV in porn will be: headboard - headboard - headboard, the truth is far from it.

Even if the woman is not facing the man, there are enough ways to still have/give a glimpse at him - i.e. if in doggy style, she can still look back over her shoulder, or even be facing a mirror and look at him in full in that mirror. Honestly, no excuses for having next to no ''Her POV'' in feminist porn.

#2 Quiet as a Mouse

Furthermore, in mainstream porn, we are used to hearing a ton of moaning from the women and hardly any sound, even breathing from the men. Breath and moaning and grunting can be quite hot to hear during intimacy and sex for women too.

Whenever I have a partner who barely makes a sound in bed, I am quite disappointed and encourage them to make sure the neighbours can hear us having fun. It is such a shame that as a woman your visit to the gym can be more visually and auditorily stimulating than when you purposefully get on a porn site to watch some porn and get off.

So... Let's wake up the dead in feminist porn too - we need to hear men's expressions of passion and pleasure too - because it is hot.

#3 More Mainstream Porn Trends

Another issue with feminist porn is that it often still focuses on male pleasure, with scenes of women giving oral sex to men being not just a common trope, but still more prevalent than women receiving oral sex.

If we look into the statistics of PornHub for 2020, we can easily see that women, more often than men enjoy watching Pussy Licking for instance as well as fingering.

So feminist porn also ignores the fact that not all women enjoy performing or watching oral sex performed on men. Again - being removed from the reality and sexual preferences of women reinforces the notion that women's pleasure should be secondary to men's.

#3 She's taking IT

If we want women to have confidence and agency in the bedroom, then feminist porn has a lot of work to do to influence and empower women to become more confident advocates and seekers of their own pleasure, at their own pace, according to their own preferences.

So, yeah, there is so much focus on the women still ''taking it'' rather than ''taking from it'' - that it makes you question again - is this really meant and filmed for women to enjoy - another lame objectification of women in porn - just with better lighting and a few extra kissing scenes.

#5 Escalation & Stories

The final issue with feminist porn that I'd highlight is that the escalation from conversation to sex is still very quick, disregarding the fact that many women take longer to warm up and enjoy more meaningful and interesting plots.

This is one of the big reasons why audio porn is whipping the ass of video porn - especially when it comes down to women's preferences. In audio porn, they compensate for the lack of visuals with a lot more good storytelling and exciting the imagination of the listener.

I bet you that if feminist porn companies actually invested in some productions that are on the principle of TV series with bigger and nicer plots, engaging the same actors, and spicing it up as the ''show progresses' this will blow up. Women love stories and I am pretty sure this kind of model for a bi-weekly or weekly new episode will be a brilliant way to monetise a porn subscription service for women. Think of it as the Porn version of Netflix series.
